2010 can officially start.  After spending January trying to catch up on November and December, I have by some miracle reduced my inSL to do list to below double digits. This included sending numerous "regret" notecards for things I'd missed in my black hole of an inventory and finally getting my info together for Crap Mariner's Tunes inSL project.

What is this, you ask?  For starters, it's a gift to live music musicians, listeners, enthusiasts and cat lovers; it's a potpourri or delight; it's like drinking pina coladas and getting lost in the rain; it's all that and a bag of salt-n-vinegar chips.  Well, maybe Crap can tell you better than I can - so get the down low from the Tunes in SL gallery site.

You can find my shiny new entry here.

Thanks Crap!

What:  Water, water everywhere and not a drop to drink - but enough live music to fill the oceans.  We are visiting a breathtaking and brilliant performance space from the soul of gwampa Lomu that will inspire and entertain you.  Floating between Bali Bali and Pango Pango is a watery expanse, completely open to your imagination - there are no dance floors here just wild an open seas, so grab your drip dry duds, something that floats and join us.

Who:
    6:00 PM - Grace McDunnough
    7:00 PM - Edward Kyomoon
    8:00 PM - Skye Galaxy

When:  Tonight @6PM SL for a Monday night live music event like no other ..one you do not want to miss!

Where: Here! http://slurl.com/secondlife/Bali%20Bali/5/132/22

Other Important tidbits:
  • The artists will be on boats.  Do not  assume they will be stationary.
  • If you get seasick, there is a lot of land here.  On the plateaus, above the waterfalls, on Bali Bali are some "funky" forests.  There are also some small reefs on Pango Pango
  • Bali Bali is a full region, very few scripts, very low lag and room for 60+ people.  Pango Pango is a homestead with limited performance and room for only 20 avatars
  • This event is NOT being listed in the events.  The only people invited are those in my group and the musician's groups.

I just joined the Koinup blogging team and I'll be writing stories about the magic of music in virtual worlds, affectionately labeled Grace's Liner Notes.

Liner notes are a wondrous mix of music inspired art, words and untold stories, and that's exactly what I hope to share as well as share tips and insights about live music in general - from being a performer to hosting your own venue.

I'm always open to story ideas so please drop me a comment here or contact me if you have a euphony scoop to share.

Peace, art and music ~ Grace

What's this Burning Life thing, you ask?  Burning Life is a festival of community, art and fire in the virtual world of Second Life. It was first held in 2003 when the Second Life grid was still in it's infancy, and it's inspired by the real life Art, Fire and Community festival known globally as Burning Man.

Today at 3PM SL (6PM PDT) I have the honor of playing at the Center Camp Tent Stage and I hope you can join us there.

Do yourself a favor and come a little early so you can explore some of the fine art installations, like Poid Mahovlich's
Cabaret of Flames - an immersive experience of fire, drums and dance - a trance like environment, which opens a parallel door from Burning Life to Burning Man , as if you stepped onto the Real Life Playa at Burning Man.

Sunday October 11th marks the final day of production for Musimmersion 2009 in Second Life .

The last show will start at 3:00PM SL (PDT) on October 11th and seats will remain first come, first served.

Musimmersion would not have happened this year without the kind generosity, vision and shared passion of SeanMcPherson Senior who dedicated his sim Blank Canvas, his time, his gentle humor and his friendship - without which none of this would have transpired. Thank you Sean.
